The Global 5000 database of the largest companies in the world continues to provide B2B marketers a timely, continually updated source of business information for business lead generation, CRM systems and ABM activity.
For the fourth quarter of 2021, 31 new companies were added to the Global 5000 database. This brings our total new companies added over the last 12 months to 231. During the quarter, 654 company records were updated as we continue our regular, daily updating process.
Every month we complete a series of updates so that we cycle thru the entire database annually. In this process there are always a number of changes and major deals in the M&A world. Companies with a marketing database that don’t follow this level of activity are truly missing out in their sales and marketing efforts.
Some of the top companies we added during the quarter included:
- Jingye Group, a $32 billion iron & steel manufacturer
- New Hope Holding Group, a meat producer
- Zhejiang Communications Investment Group, a major infrastructure financing agency
- Guangzhou Municipal Construction Group is an engineering construction company
- Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holding is a state owned pharma R&D business
And some of the notable firms we removed from the active file include the following:
- Jet2 Plc’s revenue dropped due to lack of activity during the COVID lockdowns
- Finnair Oyj also reported low revenue due to airline travel being way off the mark
- Varian Medical Systems was acquired by Siemens Healthineers
- Industrivarden AB’s revenue fell below the minimum level last year
- Kabel Deutschland Holding AG is primarily owned by Vodafone
