This week’s M&A announcements involving Global 5000 companies once again had some retail activity – Dick’s Sporting Goods (ranked #1306) will be acquiring Foot Locker (ranked #1859). Revenue for the combined companies tops $20 billion annually, but like all things retail and mall-related these days, they face an uncertain path forward.

We’ll refer you back to an earlier post where we highlighted a couple of retail players who were going away. The retail space is brutal these days. Foot Locker has been a shopping mall staple for years and (for the most part) shopping malls are not the place for retail these days. We hope Dick’s got a good deal on this one.
