Fortune just released the F500 listing based on 2010 revenue and it gives us a chance to see where these companies rank compared to the continuing, expanding global picture.

The Fortune list includes US public companies whereas The Global 5000 includes all countries and private as well as public companies.

Wal-Mart and Exxon Mobil are at the top of the list and they are the largest in world. Looking at the back end of Fortune, Seaboard is #500 on the Fortune list with approximately $4.3 billion in revenue and they rank #1600 on The Global 5000. Last year’s #500 – Blockbuster was $1529 on The Global 5000 list.

We have coded all the records with the Fortune ranking so our clients can compare and line up the records with their internals.

It is a big world out there and we all need to be reminded to continue beefing up our sales and marketing efforts around the globe and to all kinds of companies .. not just US listed companies.

Other posts here on the site show some other aspects of The Global 5000 market including private companies and billion $ firms.
