With the close of the year on 12/31/15, we have completed our update of the database with new additions and deletions.
In December, another 54 companies were researched and added bringing the total for the year to 355 new companies. At the same time, 12 companies were removed from the active database (mainly due to M&A) with the total deleted companies for the year of 154 companies.
At year end, there are a total of 4,697 active companies in The Global 5000 with a minimum annual revenue of $500 million (in USD). For the year, over 5,600 companies were researched and updated. This includes all those ‘candidate’ companies where the revenue was under $500 million.
Next up – start the updates for those reporting 2015 revenue including companies with Fiscal Year ending in June thru October.
