The early part of 2022 has been quite a wild ride in the financial markets which often means plenty of company activity – IPO’s launched, M&A running at a furious pace and plenty of spin-offs announced.  That was the case as we started into 2022. And the converse is true — as markets have cooled off so has the activity.

Put these phenomena alongside the COVID rebound revenue activity and we have some interesting churn within the Global 5000 set of companies.

From January thru the end of July, 103 new companies were added to the Global 5000.  Some are new and some are returning as their revenue bounced back above the $1 billion mark.

As these new companies – particularly the spin-offs get established they become critical new accounts for marketers to focus on. It is a constantly changing picture.
