Everyone has their eye on China and how fast it has grown. It is expected that China’s economy will overtake the US to become the #1 in the world. Using the data from the Global 5000 companies over the past few years it is clear to see that they are on track.

To look at the changing makeup & geographic shifts, we took a look at the Global 5000 companies by region over the past 5 years. One interesting thing that pops out is the number of companies for each region hardly changed in that period. You can see the distribution by region in this pie chart.

 

 

While the number of companies in each region has remained static – the revenue growth profile is quite different and reflects China’s growing influence. It also shows how Europe is not holding pace with the overall worldwide growth rate.
