The Global 5000 database of the largest companies in the world continues to provide B2B marketers a timely, continually updated source of business information for business lead generation, CRM systems and ABM activity.
For the month of March 2021, 39 new companies were added to the Global 5000 database. This brings our total new companies added over the last 12 months to 262. During the month, 728 company records were updated as we continue our regular, daily updating process. Financial results from the previous year begin to get reported toward the end of February, making March a heavy updating month.
The 39 new companies added was the most of any month over the past year — much of this was due to the revenue effect of the pandemic year 2020 where the hospitality industry got hit hard as did most Oil & Gas companies.
Every month we complete a series of updates so that we cycle thru the entire database annually. In this process there are always a number of changes and major deals in the M&A world. Companies with a marketing database that don’t follow this level of activity are truly missing out in their sales and marketing efforts.
Some of the top companies we added during the month included:
- Stellantis N.V. was added as a record – it is the result of the Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot merger
- Raizen Energia S.A. is the private sugar producer in Brazil
- Sands China Ltd, the resort and gaming company in Macau
- China State Construction International Holdings Limited
- Toyoda Gosei Co Ltd, the Japanese auto parts company
And some of the notable firms we removed from the active file include the following:
- Fiat Chrysler was removed as a result of the Stellentis merger
- Peugeot was also removed
- Dean Food Company had entered bankruptcy and is now liquidating operations
- AK Steel Holding was acquired by Cleveland Cliffs
- Concho Resources was acquired by ConocoPhillips
